long weekend thought

Hei,

So, I'm here to write about something that I have encounter day in day out as I board the LRT to go to work. As we know it, most of the seats are meant for those in need, pregnant lady, the old people, and so on. However, most of us man, prefer to give it to the ladies. Yes MOST of us do think the ladies should be sitting down.

Now, the problem here is when the ladies themselves acted selfish and decided to literally fight for the seat, cutting queue and actually yelling at people to give them a seat. This kind of people are bastard. We know you're tired, so are everyone else, but that doesn't mean you have to act all bitchy.

If only I could slap this kind of people. Some people are just asking to get one in the face. But enough about that, thinking about it making me tired.

So the long weekend is here, I have no idea of where I'm going. Some may go crazy staying at home all day, but I prefer staying inside, since everybody else are out there. You may call me boring or lazy, but I call myself lucky. How often does you have a long day of staying at home after you started working? And NO, weekend does not count, hehe. But I do like to go and eat at all the places that I have been meaning to go, of how I'm getting fat by the minutes!

Working life has been good to me, I said good, not great or bombastic. Office politics are always there, people stabbing people in the back, people talk behind you, gossiping..this is all normal office life. It's how you dealt with them that shows who's the better man or woman. Yes, walking the high road may be consider weak, but at least you won't sunk down to their level. But it would be nice to just once get a lil bit of revenge, hehe.

Working for a service company that provided the work to a client is brutal. You will, if not all the time, get beaten verbally by the clients for the work you did. This is normal. Yes, this is normal. You would like to slap them in the face, but then you realize that they are paying for your work. If only the roles are reverse.

But its understandable, they pay us to give the best service, so they expected us to delivered. But it would be really nice if we could just hold on the verbal abuse for a moment.

Orait then, it has been a long post, I don't want to make you boring. So adios for now, and we'll see each other later

Anugerah Juara Lagu 2012, or the 26th of its kinda ended last night, with some surprises and expected results, here are the full list of winners and the review for that night (personal reviewed by me, not a professional one).

Juara: Awan Nano

Naib Juara: Beribu Sesalan

Ketiga: Karma

Vocal Terbaik: Hafiz

Persembahan Terbaik: Kisah Hati

So, are the winners what you expected? I did not expect Kisah Hati to win the best performance of that night, I really thought either Sungai Lui would win it.

Anyway, Hafiz clearly won the night, taking home the champion award and best vocal of the night. Which can't be dispute if you see last night show, he clearly got this one when he got on the stage.

Beribu Sesalan was another surprise to me. From last night performance, Ning was over the top, Jac was pretty much holding back, maybe tired from singing Sedetik Lebih that night, and Shila was the only one that looks professional to me. But somehow they won the 2nd place spot. Congratulations anyway, I know you guys work hard for this, however, I have seen you guys performed the song better and give it justice more than tonight, sorry, but this is a personal opinion.

Kisah Hati was another contender for me for Best Vocal. Although Hafiz won, Alyah clearly give him a run for his money. With her powerful voice and control, she could easily won this if Hafiz wasn't in the final tonight. Though, Kisah Hati did won Best Performance, congratulations to her and whoever think of the idea that night.

Yuna, who entered with 2 songs lost both of them. Why? Well you have to ask the judges for that. However, in my personal opinion, her song was mediocre, and her performance was too much. Please don't hate me, I said this because I've seen her singing waaay better than last night. Anyway, if it was not meant to be, it was not meant to be. There will always be next year.

Kekanda Adinda, and Kalau Berpacaran is a cute song for me. I'm surprise it even made it to the final. From the get go, I can clearly see that they won't be able to won anything, perhaps Best Performance, but the songs lost to Kisah Hati that night.

Cinta Muka Buku was never a contender for the top 3 spots, however, for a 16 years old, she clearly has an amazing voice, and on the right track to become one of a great singer in Malaysia.

Sungai Lui deserve a mention here, although did not won anything, the performance was good enough, you have to see last night show, if you miss it.

Karma that won 3rd place is another surprise, of course he has got the voice, but the song for me was not that good, I don't know how the judges took place, but again..weird

Other songs that was not mention, Wanita Seluruh Dunia and Sedetik Lebih was push aside by other powerful contender. Wanita Seluruh Dunia was lucky to be in the final, while Sedetik Lebih need the original singer to get a better chance at winning.

So there you go. Again, this is a personal opinion and reviewed. Don't like it? Don't read.

My last published post was on 15th January, seems so long ago.

Anyway..it's a been a while. There are a lot of stories to be told, not just the what's happening in my life, but in our life as well. Let starts with something truly important.

For once, I don't know if you heard about this, but currently in the US, there's a new law that is going a debate whether it should be implement or not. The law basically give the US power to shut down any website it deems as piracy supporters or not a "safe" website, and the right to arrest the creator of the website, WHEREVER they may be.

This is what happened to Megaupload website (yes, it has been shut down, for those who don't know). FBI issued an arrest warrant for the creator of Megaupload, which he is currently residing in Australia. And for those who does not know, Australia is NOT part of USA.

Think about this, if the US can arrest people, anywhere in the world, where else can you stay and be safe? Although piracy itself is wrong, we do not download materials that haven't been in the store yet, where the artists have gain millions in selling of their intellectual property. To stop and deny a person freedom of speech (just like somewhere I know) is the worse kind of human crime I can think of.

So there you go, I know it's not a concern for most of you, but think about what happened when the US government start shutting down popular website, YouTube or Google or something much more popular?

A lot happened for the past week, but I won't wrote everything here. Some are much too controversial, while others are too much talked about. So lets start with something that haven't gotten a lot of media attention here in Malaysia. CES 2012.

What is CES 2012? CES stands for Consumer Electronics Show, which is the BIGGEST show in the world for all thing electronics. It is held in the US, annually, that is why you don't heard about it that much.

I won't go into details, CES is basically like PC Fair, except it is join not only by computer maker, but also all the player in electronics that you can think of, Nokia, Samsung, Microsoft, LG, and much much more. It is the early year platform for all the major player to show off their ideas and gadgets that will be the cornerstone for the their company for the next 1 whole year.

So, the theme for the past 2 years was tablets. As you can see, we have plentiful of tablets out there that we can't even catch on to it. However, this year, it is all about the Ultrabooks. It is a laptop, with the most powerful hardware that you can think of, and thickness of only milimeters thick!

So, lets get down to the most memorable and note worthy gadgets and ideas from CES 2012, that was chosen by Engadget and CNET.

OH MY GOD!

How long has it been since I last wrote in here? Seems like ages..hehe

So how are you guys? I hope everyone are picture perfect, if you aren't then smile, and think positive, cause whatever happened, happens for a reason.

So let me recap everything that's been happening so far.

The last time I wrote about my sisters got 4 As for their UPSR, they are growing up, and are going to secondary school next year. How fast things seems now. Wish them all the best, and hoping for them to be better than their brother here. Preferably a doctor or a pilot, so I can get free medical check up and free flight all around the world, seems realistic enough rite?

So, a week after my post on Uzma's Treasure Hunt + Canopy Walk, I had a great time out with close friends of mine (you know who you are). It's a simple celebration for Aysha's new job, and Seri's birthday. The original plan was to celebrate Biha's birthday too, but she had to canceled due to an unforeseen circumstances. Also, I totally forgot about Fidz's birthday the next day, but I'll make it up to her when she's in KL, YOU BETTER GIVE ME A CALL!

Also, the next day, I had a bowling tournament at Berjaya Times Square. SPE KL Tournament (SPE stands for Society of Petroleum Engineering), is a tournament that is annually held by the society. Usually they held a bowling and a golf tournament, and the prizes was amazing, especially the lucky draw.

Uzma totally loss that bowling tournament, the other companies came with the big gun! Most of them have their own bowling club, which is a lame excuse for a sour loser, but you aren't there, so shut up!

Hello world,

First of all, for those that didn't heard, my twin sisters got 4A's for their UPSR. So my parents decided to get them a present. Now the the plan was for them to get my iPhone if they got 3A's, but since they got 4A's all they want is an iPad or a new phone..which is absolutely out of the question! What? Even I didn't get something that cool..hehehe

So while my parents think about what to get them, I try to be a good brother, and get them a present. Now a good brother NOT only bully their lil sisters or brothers, but also not cheap when we need to be. So, I found a great present to give them. I got them a wrist watch, wait a minute, it's not a normal wrist watch, it's an LED wrist watch! What they do is that they don't use a normal hour, minute and second hand. Wait..let me just show you.

So back to my parents. My father search ups and lows to get them a new phone, a smartphone, but not that expensive. So my dad found this new Samsung phone, it's a smartphone, but it does not run on an Android OS. It's call Samsung Corby 2.

Here are some pics.

They have all you need for a basic phone. But with the capability of a smartphone. You may heard about Samsung Galaxy Y, a much more cheaper version of the Galaxy family. But price wise, Galaxy Y is about RM500, while Corby 2 is around RM200.

Uzma's Treasure Hunt + Canopy Walk

How do you do?

Yesterday, my company, decided to have a treasure hunt at FRIM, Kepong. I was reluctant to go, because..well just because.

But after being "politely" asked by the HR dept, I went anyway. So the plan was to have a treasure hunt, and then up to the canopy walk. The treasure hunt was suppose to be a 1 hour game, but since we started late, it was cut short to 30 minutes, which require us to run around searching for answers. This make us, very very tired to go up the canopy walk. For your info, the canopy walk is up to 1 km above the hill from the visitor centre and the slope is about 45 degrees.

So the treasure hunt was pretty easy, my team won by the way! YEAH! So, all we have to do is run around searching for the floras and faunas, name them and pick up some leaves.

Immediately after the treasure hunt, we are up to the canopy walk, with little time to wait, if we want to get down by lunch time. The hike took about 1 and half hour, for 1 km up the hill. The worst part about the canopy walk is the hiking itself, since the hill slope is about 45 degrees, so you really have to force yourself up there, I suggest you don't overexerted yourself before you hike up, and bring very light items with you. But once you got up to the canopy walk, it was really breathtaking.

New show, New Girl

Hey there..

Just want to share a new show, I think it's airing right now on Star World. New Girl is the show, starring Zooey Deschannel. It's about a girl that move out from her apartment after finding out that her boyfriend is cheating on her. So she seek out a new place to stay, and end up with an apartment with 3 guys after mistook thinking the ad was written by a woman seeking a new roommate, so that's how it all started. The guys can't stand her crazy and awkward behaviour, but in spite of all the quirk, they rally to bond and become like a family.

Some critics said this might be the next big comedy, I doubt that. It's still too early to said how this show is going, it just aired up to 6 episodes in the US, so it's a long way to go before we could call it the next big anything.

However, the show is kinda good. So far the show has some great punchline and crazy acting. I think because of Zooey Deschannel eccentric behaviour, this show has found a solid ground to hold onto. Also, the smooth acting, the well written episode, and great chemistry between them in this show making it one of my favourite show to watch each week.

The other main reason, beside watching the eccentric Zooey Deschanel, is watching her best friend on the show, Cece. Played by the beautiful and steaming hot Hannah Simone. I think, if the show kept getting good reviews, she most definitely be one of world's top 100 sexiest woman alive.

Galaxy Note do you want it?

So it's been a while..let's talk Android..hehe

I think everybody already heard and read about the new Galaxy Note. Most of you already feel sick about how people talk about it..a lot! But let your stomach swallow a little bit more of this...

So what is Galaxy Note? Galaxy Note is the next Samsung's line of Galaxy Family. For those that still remember Galaxy S2 (has it been that long?) Galaxy Note put all the best of S2 into it.

Comparison of Note from other Android's phones and iPhone

Here's the low down of the phone, it has a huge..and I mean..HUGE 5.3 inch screen! S2 screen is already a big 4.3 inch, 5.3 inch is a little bit smaller than a 8.9 Galaxy Tab. But, I don't think Samsung gonna stop there, don't be surprise if they gonna release a bigger phone. Also, with Super Amoled HD, the screen is crystal clear, some said, the best smartphone screen out there. For those that hate technical terms, a Super Amoled HD can only be found with Galaxy Tab 10.1 Plus, so you have to expect a very crystal clear screen and with thickness close to S2, who wouldn't be tempted right?

Comparison between Note and S2

So if you finding a gap between a phone and a tab, Note is obviously your choice. Although with larger phone, and heavier too, you have to wonder how does it fair with other Galaxy's family. The main concern is not the software, but the size. You have to wonder how it look like when you holding something this huge to make a phone call, how unsightly it might look. Also, with a heavier phone, you might feel uncomfortable having it inside your pocket

Note come with a stylus, dubbed the S Pen, and don't call it a stylus, Samsung prefer them to be call the S Pen. The S Pen is a great substitute for your finger, it can basically do whatever your finger can do, writing, drawing, taking picture. A great addition if you love to write, and drawing.

The major different of Note, is that it's front camera of 2 mega pixels. The S2 front camera is a mere 1.3 mega pixels, so with a 2 mega pixels camera, it's a better quality camera for those that love to have a video call.

Now, you need someone to tell if this is the right phone for you. You need to ask yourself, what do you look for in a phone? If you searching for an all rounded phone, that is not too big for you, I still recommend S2, or wait for the next Galaxy Nexus that come with the new Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwhich. If you love to read, and play with your tablet, but want something smaller, than Note might be the right one for you.

Remember that newer phone come out every time, so choose wisely.

Aidiladha come and go, this year was nothing extraordinary. Although..our local mosque had to kosher 14 cows! 14! That had to be a record for the mosque. If you think about it, to kosher and fully cut all the meat for a single cow took about an hour, so 14 cows, if you only had 1 group of people for one cow, that's a total of 14 hours! On the bright side, more people gets the meat.

So how was your holiday? I was thinking to spend the long weekend in KL, but last minute plan changes it. I had to follow my parents to Kuantan, visiting my little bro studying there. The plan was to depart on Saturday, but after careful planning, it will be suicide to travel on Saturday, so we decided to head there on Sunday, and return on Monday.

The whole 2 days was fill with nothing but searching for great foods. Of course, on Sunday we didn't expect any good eating place to be open, since it's a holiday. But my dad remembered a steak house, called the East Grill Steak House, that rumour has it, the Pahang's Sultan once dine there. Since it's open, why not try it.

The restaurant is small in term of spaces, only a few available tables, if you come in late, you have to wait for a table. Another problem is the reservation table, although it's good to have reservation, but the restaurant really need to set some time time for the reserved patron to be there. Because even after 9pm, the reserved table still empty, and people are still coming in.

In term of the food, it is what you expect of a steak house. There are lamb, chicken, meat and fish, however, you can choose to have the Teriyaki Steak, or choose between the red snapper or salmon for the fish. You can't choose the side dish, which for me is a let down, because not everybody eat the coleslaw, or the corn. You can also choose a list from the chef's favourite, and another specialty from the restaurant is their homemade sauce, which include, black pepper sauce, BBQ sauce and mushroom sauce. The black pepper sauce is pretty much like its' name, too much black pepper, and too little of everything.

The price are pretty much in range of between 30-70 per person (including water), pretty decent if you decide to eat there once a month. But beware, for those with large appetite, this may not be a good place, unless of course, if you ordered the Mixed Barbeque, which include everything plus a jumbo size sausage.

That's for Sunday menu, on Monday, when we decided to return home, we must first find a place to have lunch, I don't why the first thought come to my dad's mind was Berserah's beach. It's a good thing too, because we had the opportunity to taste a famous place in Kuantan, call the Pak Su's Seafood.

My dad said, if you ever in Kuantan, you should really try this place. It is a seafood place, so don't expect anything crazy from this review. Of course you can expect the usual from a seafood place, however, it is their way of cooking them that is what we are looking for.

We ordered Fish cooked with asam, deep fried squid and western style prawn (basically butter prawn), and seafood tom yam, with mix vegetables. We also ordered the specialty, stuff crab, crab's meat mix with vegetables and flour, (not worth it). The fish was a let down, since the Asam overpower everything, you can't taste much of anything else. The best dish has to be the prawn, worth the money spend.

I can tell you everything you need to know, although I doubt you didn't know already how Asam or butter prawn taste like. The most important thing when going to a new dining place, is the taste of the food, and the money spend on it, is it worth it? It's a lil it expensive for my taste, RM150 for everything. The most worth thing eating was the prawn, Don't buy the stuff crab, RM7 for a crab so not worth it. The fish was also a let down, we should try the fish cook with ginger instead.

The drinks were expensive, and in small glass, so ordered a large jug and don't order any fruits drink, RM3 for a small glass, that has to be highway robbery.

Alright, I won't write a lot of things here, I just want to share some of the new TV series I am currently watching.

So, first of all, have you heard of The Big Bang Theory? It's an AWESOME show! It is currently on its 5th season in the US, I just started on its 2nd season, a long way to go, but totally worth it. Created by Chuck Lorre, the same guy that created 2 and A Half Man, so you know this is good. The show portraits a bunch of geek+nerdy+smart+intelligence guys with no social experience whatsoever especially with hot girls. One day, a new hot young girl become their neighbour, and this changes the dynamic of the team. This usually come with hilarious result. The show throws a lot of big words that only few people understand, but this is what makes the show hilarious. So have it a go.

Second TV shows, is the Secret Circle, sounds cliche right? That because it is. It's another story from CW, the same network that created The Vampire Diaries and brings you Supernatural. Basically, the shows about a bunch of teenage witches. Yes witches. It's call the Secret Circle because they bound themselves to a circle of power, or something, that makes their individual power gone, but gain a whole power as a group (sounds like a bad bargain right?). The whole show so far clouded with a lot of questions, just started airing last September, it still has a long way to go. The show focus more on the history and mystery that happens to the teenagers' parents when they were their age. Although bound by the circle makes them vulnerable as an individual, they can still cast spell when they in a group. Which, to my surprise makes for a good storyline. If you watch it and like it, then maybe there's hope yet for this one.

Another show, I'm currently watching is, Person of Interest. I am having a mix view on this one. It is about a guy that created a software that allows the government to assess threat from everyone, and I mean..EVERYONE..However, the software can't differentiate from a small threat to a big threat. The guy eventually work it out, that the small threat be remove after a day, however, after a while he realize that the small threat involve ordinary people that involve with unfortunate incident. He make up his mind, to find out what makes this small threat, a threat in the first place, by hiring an ex-special military personnel, to investigate the threat. The show so far has increase it pace, but I can't see how this thing could go any further, but it's still too early to tell.

Once Upon A Time, sounds like a beginning sentences from a fairy tale cartoon. However, it is a show that just aired last week in the US. The show fuse the beautiful and happily ever after fairy tale and the harsh and cold reality of the real world. It is about Snow White and her crazy step mother that put a curse that plunge all your fairy tale's character to the real world. The kicker is, none of them remember that they are fairy tale characters except for the evil step mother and one boy, who has this magical book that told story of the fairy tale. For the first episode, it looks kinda cool, the acting was good, the effect was superb, but the story is a bit slow. Let see where this show will go.

Last of all, American Horror Story. Let me tell you something, the story is KINDA scary. Don't let me ruin your fun ok? The show is about a family that move to a haunted house, with a LOT of very dark and bad memory in it. It seems that everyone or anything that ever live here, died, either by natural causes or killed by something. There are ghosts and scary scene, but none of them can compare to the boring drama that involve between the broken family. You could skip the scene though if you don't like, that's what I do anyway. But, the show did get great review from the US. It is still fun to watch though, just don't go and watch it alone tonight.

So here's another post of the week.

It was a crazy month for me. Too much work to be done, I barely had time to breath. I will take time to post my work place in a few days, it's a boring place to work, the colour is gloom, dull and it make you sleepy all the time. No wonder work never got done there..hahaha. But for now, let us focus on something else.

Paranormal 3, hold 2 weeks at No.1. For those that never saw Paranormal Activity, your loss. Go and watch it from the beginning, then you understand the 3rd installment of this most successful horror franchise. The first movie was made with 200,000 USD I believe, and rake about 80mil USD, now that's a good investment.

It's been a while since I drop in here.

First thing first, have you got your brand new iPhone 4S yet? No...well you in luck, it'll be coming to Singapore by the end of this year, no news yet on when will it be coming to Malaysia, and if you can't wait, go down south and get yourself a brand new iPhone 4S.

One thing that caught everybody attention in iPhone 4S is the new assistant Siri. If you haven't had the chance to witness it, go to YouTube and search it. If however, you wanted to see the Siri meme, just go here and here, you would laugh your ass off.

Some of you might not know this, but iPhone 4S sold for more than 4 millions after it's launch and pre-sale orders. Which is way more than iPhone 4. Some people says this is mainly due to the fact that iPhone 4S is post Steve Jobs, which worth something more. I don't know, I have no comment on this.

So, since I'm an Android user now, I have been following all things Android, there are a lot of stuffs to read just to understand the fundamental of the OS. I have been surfing the web and asking around, and believe me, it is as hard and complicated as Apple iOS, maybe harder. So, if you are thinking of buying an Android phone, make sure you are prepare for a brand new world.

But enough about that. Last week, Samsung unveil a new phone with a new Android OS. Presenting the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Made from Google's own brand, Nexus, the brand is now incorporated into Samsung. Although, Google's logo can be seen at the back of the phone. The phone runs on the new Android 4.0 OS, the Ice Cream Sandwhich (yes that is the OS name).

Some might get confuse, when you see an Android's phone now, the latest firmware is 2.3, Gingerbread, what happens to 3.0? Well 3.0 is Honeycomb which runs only on Android's Tablet. So Ice Cream Sandwhich will be put into both the phone and the tablet, so your phone will have features that was previously only on Android's tablet.

Galaxy Nexus itself is a modest phone, running only on 1.2 GHz processor, with only 1GB of ram, and only a 5 megapixel camera. The screen however is 4.7 inch! That is larger than Galaxy S2 (4.3 inch) Do not worry about the phone size, it is more or less the same as Galaxy S2, only the screen gets bigger.

Currently only Galaxy Nexus is running on Android 4.0, but the upgrade will be available to all Android's user by the end of the year, or early next year. I won't go into detail about Android 4.0, you can get that from Google. But the OS looks sweet! Can't wait for the update.

My recommendation? If the price of Galaxy S2 is lower than Galaxy Nexus, go get the S2, however, for those that don't care about the price, try out Galaxy Nexus, and tell me what you think. Will be a long time though before it debut here.

first review on Samsung Galaxy S2

For more than 3 years, I was an Apple user..but yesterday I was a proud user of Android OS.

I bought Samsung Galaxy S2 yesterday. I didn't really plan to buy the phone until last week, when Apple failed to announced the new iPhone 5, but instead release an iPhone 4S. I can't bear to wait another year, for iPhone 5, so I decided to give Android a try.

But I am not an Apple hater, I've been using them for 3 years. Maybe it is time to try something else and totally new. So here is my own review about Samsung Galaxy S2, which you can look up on Google or go to mobile88.com for more info.

For those that hates going through all the lengthy specs of a phone, here's a summarize version for Galaxy S2. I will also compare them to iPhone 4 and 4S.

Galaxy S2 has 4.3 inch of screen, bigger than iPhone 4 and 4S (3.5inch). I know some of you would go "why we need so big of a screen?!" You are right, we can just zoom in to read or search something. However, a bigger screen means a wider vision when we go through email, or internet, so we don't have to scroll that much to read them. Plus, the awesome look when you played games in a bigger screen is not a bad thing.

Galaxy S2 also uses Super Amoled screen. Where it looks incredible! I'm not being bias or anything, you can look it up on Google about Super Amoled. What it does, is that when you're outside on a scorching hot day, you're screen won't have that glare, where you can't view the phone's screen, due to the bright sun. Super Amoled won't have that problem, it works superb on low light, and even better on bright day. Now, as far as I know, only Samsung has this kind of technology, but I think some of them will catch up eventually.

One of worse part of iPhone for me, is the inability to change the memory space. With Galaxy S2, you get 16Gb of internal memory, but if you want, you can add your own SD memory card. Just think about when buying iPhone, where the price vary according to the space its providing.

iPhone 4S and Galaxy S2 both has 8MP of camera, however, only 5MP for iPhone 4. Some of you won't mind having 5MP, I don't too, since 5MP is a essential enough to take great photos. But if you're a photographing junkies, you might one the 8MP camera, just because. Both Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S take 1080p HD video, but iPhone 4 still takes 720p HD video. You can fully appreciate 1080p HD video, when you played it back on laptop or TV that has HD capability.

The phone has 1.2Ghz of dual-core processor, which is faster than iPhone 4S (1Ghz), however, some said, this is a small trivial matter, since there are NO apps in the world, both on Android's and Apple's platform that can push the processor up to 1 Ghz.

The internal RAM for Galaxy S2 is 1GB, same with iPhone 4S, and 512MB for iPhone 4. RAM is basically the same thing in your laptop or computer, where you need more memory to run more apps, and to run app simultaneously without hiccup. This is great for those of you that love to run several apps at the same time, and makes the phone run smoothly.

Another upset from iPhone is their inability to run Java from their web surfer, mainly the Safari. There are ways to get them running on iPhone, but it's a complicated way, and has the potential of getting the iPhone stuck. I don't get it why they won't allow Java, maybe the developers are a bunch of egoistic pride people.

The USB port on the bottom of the Galaxy S2, act also as a HDMI port, which is convenient if you want to play back your video on HD format. Somethinng iPhone is lacking.

Also, Galaxy S2 uses HSPA+ which is a much better version than HSDPA to surf the net from your mobile carrier, I believe, iPhone still using HSDPA. This gives you about 14mbps of internet surfing, although, this also depends on the availability of the coverage.

Now, here the bad side of using Samsung Galaxy S2, apparently, if you have thousands of contacts on Outlook, you can't sync it with Samsung. This has to be done manually by putting all you contact on Gmail (yes, you have to have a Gmail account), and then sync from Samsung's phone using the Gmail account. This is one of the bullshit you have to endure, since Android (a Google's OS) wants people to have Gmail account. You can Google about it, on the how-to transfer your contact from Outlook to Gmail.

Another weird thing about Android, is when you surf the web, it automatically view the mobile version of the website, with no buttons to change to normal view. There is a long complicated way to change it though, but it revert to default once you out of the internet. Another way to handle this is by using another websurfer, like Firefox.

Another issue (that I yet to encounter) is the battery life. I've read about it countless times that Galaxy S2, has a battery life problems. I can't know for sure, but from what I read is that the battery life drain faster when you start downloading widget or apps that runs on the background, which means the apps is constantly running. I have to get back on you with this.

So there you go, I have yet to master the way of the Android. I will keep posting for different pros and cons of the Galaxy S2.

In the meantime, if you're thinking of buying an Android's phone, I suggest the Galaxy S Plus, it has almost the same specs as Galaxy S2, with different in RAM (512MB) and Processor (1.4Ghz). Also, they only come with 8GB of internal memory, but you can add your own SD card to boost the memory. They came with 5MP camera with 720p HD video, but they are newer than Galaxy S2.

The best part of Galaxy S Plus is its price, around RM1300..way way cheaper than Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4 now. With luck, you could probably get it for RM1200.

The hype is over, there is NO iPhone 5!

The 4th Oct announcement of Apple that everybody is talking about is apparently about the release of the new iPhone 4S. This is expected, since there are no official leaked photos of new iPhone being developed or mass produce, unlike iPhone 4 before.

So, if you want to know more about iPhone 4S, just go to Gizmodo, where you can learn more, or better yet, Google them.

Here's the quick version of the new iPhone family.

I am getting fed up with this wait on iPhone 5, for me, iPhone 4S is boring, since most of Android's phone are already using the above specs. So it's up to you if you want to buy the new iPhone 4S or wait for another year for an iPhone 5.

Sister's 12th birthday

So, on 27th last month was the twins' 12th birthday, normally we would buy birthday cake and celebrate at home, but since it's their last birthday with her primary school's friends, my mom decided to brought the cakes to the school, so they could celebrate with their friends.

The date come and go, however, I did promise them a present if I got a job, sadly, I did, hehe...so I decided to bring them for a movie and lunch in Pavilion, and also to look for their toys.

Why Pavilion you ask? I only decided to went there because I want them to taste Carl's Jr. It was never my intention to buy their toys there, because they haven't had any good toys store for the kids, the only toy store is in Parkson, and it was just a small corner at the back of the store. So, if you want to buy toys for your kids, please don't go to Pavilion.

So, we decided to catch Johnny English Reborn, and ate lunch at Carl's Jr. Oh yes, for those that haven't seen or want to watch Johnny English, I highly recommend you watch it with your families. I don't think you want to watch it with your friends, because the movie might be kinda dull for you. It is funny, at least some part of the movie is. Bare in mind that this is not a Oscar winning movie, it is a simple, funny and a good movie to laugh together with your family.

So after lunch, we set out to find their toys. Like I said, there is no good toys store in Pavilion, we took a round inside Tokyo Street, went into Parkson, and still can't seem to find a good store. So we decided to go to KLCC and went to Toys 'r' Us (they change location, in case you don't know)

I told them, each of them had a max limit of RM100 per toys, so they could pick either one toy of RM100, or several toys amount up to RM100. We bought nerf gun (after brainwashing them, so I could also play along) hehe..and several other toys.

It was a tiresome day, and that is all..adieu.

Apple's Oct 4th annoucement

HELO MALAYSIA!

I have great news for those Apple enthusiast. Some of you might be following this, some of you might even heard this the first time. iPhone 5, the newest of the iPhone family is getting near on its unveiling.

Apple's new CEO, Tim Cook released a statement that an announcement is going to be made on Oct 4, 2011, of a possible new device. Some would agree that it is the holy announcement of the new iPhone 5, but let us not forget that Apple also produce the iPod, iPad and not to mention, the possibility of an iPhone 4Gs.

If the news of the release of the new iPhone 5 on Oct 4 is true, than we can see the new iPhone role out to meet the buyer in few weeks time. Which is also a good news in Malaysia, since the CEO of Maxis is talking closely with Apple to make the iPhone 5 available in Malaysia by end of Oct or early Nov.

There are still many speculations and rumours going around regarding the important date of Oct 4, but here are some facts.

Fact number 1, if the announcement of iPhone 5 is true, Apple will sell iPhone 3G, 3Gs, and iPhone 4 at lower price. There are also introducing new iPhone 4 with 8GB memory, that will have cheaper price, that targets the mid class individual so that they too can afford a cheap iPhone (this is done to counter the abundant of Android's phone that is readily made for the mid class)

Fact number 2, with the release of iPhone 5, the battle with Android is going to intensify, which is a good thing for consumer like us, because we are going to be attack by a barrage of new devices with crazy ideas and soo many choices.

Assalammualaikum everyone, it's been a while since my last post. So how's Raya for everyone? May you have many many open houses to go, and prepare yourself, for a world of stomach ache..hehehe

So, before I'm going to tell all the new details of my jobs, let us recap of what's happening in the world around us. I'll be brief, I promise.

Did you heard about the new Windows 8? Yeah!! If you haven't seen the video or the news, go Google it, it looks amazing. You can even download the build version (BEWARE though, this is a very unstable platform, if you want to install it, use an old seldom use computer to avoid unnecessary complication.) The new Windows 8 is so revolutionize, it might take some time to get use to it. It has all this apps, that usually made for phones, but were incorporated into the PC platform. I'm talking gibberish now, hehe. To make things easier, just Google, or go to YouTube for more info.

Other than tech stuffs, there are thing going around the world that is just to damn depressing and sad to write about here, I'm sure you guys been keeping tap on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in the US. The crazy revolution in Libya, Syria. Don't get me started on the current affairs in our own backyard.

However, the good news of the day, is the leaked naked photos of one Scarlett Johansson, have you guys seen it? There was only 2 of them, but it was pretty decent pics. The photos were allegedly hacked from her phone, by a group of people. The FBI reportedly is closing in on one of the suspects, so lets hope he/she leak out more of the celeb's pics before the FBI busted them, hehe

So, back to me, my life, mainly my working life has been ok so far. Although, I've been working late up til 12 am finishing up all the work in the office, which is pretty crazy if you ask me. This can all be avoided, if it wasn't for our partner in the US and Vietnam that been stalling on emailing us all the details.

I am also preparing myself to do a new work, things that is different from my current job, this is because the person that was assigned to this decided to leave the company, so they chose me, because there aren't many people around they could ask to help fill in the blank (pick the new kid, to do a job that required an experience hand, that's how short handed we are.)

So I am basically back to square one again. The job requires me to learn all the new technical terms by a month time, becoming a liaison for our partner, preparing report, going offshore, and prepare all the business related stuffs all by myself, because apparently I am this "good". Hopefully this job isn't as stressful, but from what I gathered, it wouldn't count on it.

I take this as a challenge. I just hope I could cope within this one month time. I don't want to screw things up, this is a millions dollar project people! It would look bad for the company if I screw things up.

So there you go, let us meet again, if I'm still with the company, in a month time? Pray for me people, pray for me..

Raya 2011

How's everyone? Raya's holiday is almost over, I am now currently back home, and preparing to go back to work. So many things to do, so little time.

Raya was fun, simple and tiring, not to mention, it's the time when one lose money faster than one earned, hehehe. The difference between celebrating it in Johor and Kelantan is the feeling of balik kampung. When we get back to Johor, we stayed in the city, which is pretty much says it all. It does not feel like balik kampung, and most of the relatives also stayed in the city, with brick houses, and big gates.

But it is good to be back in Johor, since I have so many cousins and relatives. It does however sucks when you have to give duit raya to them, since there are a LOT of them! Curse of having a job.But I do get some duit raya, people see me walking around, suddenly giving me duit raya, I don't have the heart to tell them I'm already working...hehe

Another thing Kelantan is different from Johor is the availability of Lemang. It is so hard to find Lemang in Kota Bharu, but in Johor, there are abundant of stalls selling them, you just have to search for the right one. Below is a photo of one many lemang stalls in Johor.

Anyway, Raya is a month long festivities, there are bound to be open houses, so let's enjoy the month while it last, and here's hoping that you will not have stomach ache by the end of the day.

crazy working days ahead

I have finally landed a job. It's not my dream job, but it is amazing to get a job nevertheless. So for those that did not know, I landed a job at Uzma Engineering last week. I was suppose to start on Friday at the lab in Shah Alam, but somehow, due to special circumstances, I was told to start in Uzma House at Cheras starting last Thursday. For this whole year, I will probably be move around, from Geological Department, to Sales, to Business, to Manpower, to Lab and cycle all the way until they see where I am good at. GOD!

It was pretty hectic 2 days when I started there! I was immediately thrown into a meeting with big clients talking about something on something regarding something, of course I was there to get the basic info on how everything works in Uzma, but I was so disorganize that I literally blank out of my mind, not figuratively, literally.

So, the position I'm in is a Junior Geologist, however, I am not doing the actual geological work. I am thrown into the business-related work, typing in data, reading on report, making proposal, being a despatch boy and etc. It was really crazy since I have no idea what I'm doing. The only people there is my supervisor and another colleague to help. Which they are also busy doing God knows what!

Haih...I am not being ungrateful, it just that getting thrown into something I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, and what's more, having to work in Ramadhan really drain a lot out of me, I almost collapse on my first day simply due to stress, not to mention the crazy traffic in KL.

Not to whine here, but next week I have to write a proposal on a project we currently pursuing, my supervisor is away for 2 weeks, how on earth am I going to get through this?! There will be a lot of question next week, and many more blank face to a lot of victims.

But no worries, I'm sure with time I am gonna be good at what I'm doing, my problem is when I am thrown all around during my duration, I'm afraid I have to start all over again.

The good part is that the boss are as crazy as you can imagine, but they expect results, that's how boss works, everybody knows that. You just have to flow with it I guess. Haih, can't wait to see what awaits me in the next month.

So there you go, that is all I have to say currently, awaits my crazy working years ahead.

Watch this trailer from the movie The Change Up. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, they grew up together, but soon drift apart ended up living two different life. Reynolds is living the life of a single hot bachelor, while Bateman is a dad, a worker and a husband.

Both of them envy each other life, so they got their wishes one night, while peeing together, yes PEEING together. Waking up to a different bodies, they are freaking out and getting their head around this, and hilarity follows soon after. From the director of Wedding Crasher and the writer of The Hangover, this is going to be good.

The nominees of the 63rd Primetime Emmy have been name. Mildred Pierce took the biggest number of nominations with 21 nominations. While Mad Men took 19 nominations, Boardwalk Empire and Modern Family took 18 and 17 nominees respectively.

Surprises for me in the nominations, John Noble from Fringe did not get any nominations, he was excellent with his character in the latest season. Fringe did get one nomination, but it was in Creative Media, not the show it self, I really think it was their best season, compare to the first two season, and those two season, they were even nominated.

Game of Thrones did really well in the TV. Taken audience by surprise and quickly establish fan base around the world. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend this to you. This year, for their first season, they had 13 nominations! Pretty impressive, considering the series had only 10 episodes this season. The biggest surprises is that Peter Dinklage got his nomination for Best Supporting Actor as Tyron Lannister, absolutely deserve it.

However, The Walking Dead and Glee didn't do to well this time. There was no nominations for The Walking Dead except for technical nominations, this could be contribute to the fact that the first season only had 6 episodes, too little to judge anything I guess. While Glee only got some nominations for supporting role, it did not get nominated in the big league for leading role or director and writer category, which just show that singing does not necessarily means acting.

Glee's Exclusive! 4th season shocker!

Glee's regulars, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will NOT be returning for the fourth season.

This came as a shock, when Glee's co-creator Ryan Murphy said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the three of them will graduate at the end of season 3. Adding that it will be most logical thing to do, as they started the series as a sophomore and graduate high school by season 3.

Murphy also said that more character are leaving than staying when the series end it's third season, who is graduating and staying will be reveal when the new season start this Sept. 20th.

I for once, am sad about this, but it is the way how it works, you can't have this guy on the show for six seasons, it just wouldn't be right. I just hope that when the fourth season open, new faces, with more talents would fill in their shoes.

Bersih 2.0, support or against?

So, I've been thinking about whether to put this up or not, I just doesn't feel right, if I at least didn't say something.

Regardless of your political view, just read this and judge it on two sides for the once. If you been keeping about Bersih 2.0, (which is really hard to ignore right now), I'm sure you guys have different views and opinions about the rally.

So here's my thoughts and view, again, this is purely educational, no harsh words will be thrown. To make it brief, Bersih 2.0 is a rally that main objectives include, a clean elections, stop dirty politics, reform the postal and stop corruption. In all sense, it is a good move right? So why does Barisan Nasional feel threaten by the rally? Because they afraid that it is a move by the Pakatan Rakyat to get people support, which makes sense if you ask me, but why?

Barisan Nasional is the government currently, of course when you're talking about making a clean slate of all the objectives in the rally, it would indirectly point to the government, thus making them look bad. However, this is not the case, it is also stated that Bersih 2.0 wants a clean politics, does this involve BN alone? Of course not, we also have the Pakatan in politics, and lets not forget the scandals Keadilan Party had this past months.

A question does come to mind, why does BN so intend to stop the rally, if the elections is clean? Why not let the people rally, it's not like they are going to start a riot, they just want to gather, show support that the people are still the power in democratic country.

Some would say that a rally is not a good image to be shown a country, how do you purpose we do it? Through the legal and right channel? Of course this is close to impossible. Do you know that every democratic country has 3 main branches? The Executive branch, the Legislative branch and the Judiciary branch. The Executive branch govern the country, the Legislative branch makes or change the constitution while the Judiciary branch is the law and suppose to be independent, however, there is influence on appointing judges by the Prime Minister (you can read it in Wikipedia).

The King will appoint the judges, however the candidates names are given by Prime Minister, so how can the Judiciary be independent and just if the judges are appointed by the political party that govern the country? So, most of the judges and people involve in this branch probably support the current government, think about it. That is why the right and legal channel is hard to take.

I am not influencing people to join the rally, but it would be a great view that people still holds the power in a democratic country. You tell that you support democracy, when you govern a country with totalitarian power. If you believe in BN, I have no problem, a little politic does not hurt, but don't close your eyes and blindly follow a leader, just because he's a leader, always question yourself.

I myself question the rally. If the objectives are really about changing the politics of this country or to show and gain support to Pakatan Rakyat? If the rally are really clean and peaceful, or will a riot breaks out? However, from recent history, it has been shown that a peaceful rally in Malaysia turns deadly when police involve, which comes to another question, for whom does the police works for? Barisan Nasional or the people?

Interestingly, the Chief of Police whom is also elected by The King, are chosen from candidates the Prime Minister chose, is this even legal? Yes, yes it is, because that's how weird our constitution is.

So are the rally really a political move? I can say yes, just because BN are so intent on stoping the rally. On one hand, people that are always witness the injustice and how dirty the political and election process, just want something to actually be clean and fair. If this is a political move to topple the government, it would be another unfair move by Pakatan, if you really want to won the heart and mind of the people, let start by buying all the medias outlet, that openly support BN, then we can change the people heart and mind set.

There are people that are stuck in between, people that would just like a normal weekend afternoon. People that need to work, that have plan that day, this are the people that hoping to avoid the clash of police and the rally's supporter.

A democracy can't be achieve by single person alone, that is why we have this rally, to show that people still support democracy. Let's hope that the rally will be peaceful, and that life will return to normal after that, and hoping that the police does not make things worse, you already have a bad reputation for being the government's servant.

Transformes 3 review

I had the chance to watched Transformers: Dark Side of The Moon with the family yesterday. So here's my take on the movie.

First of all, it's a simple 4/5 stars, easy, because of this reason, the action, explosive, battle scenes was AWESOME. The original cast was great as always, funny and entertaining, thanks to the great dialog, and good acting. The storyline although good written, seems kinda long, but it's to put in all the important part in, so no harm there.

Why didn't I gave it a 5 stars? Because of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and her acting. Here's proving a point that being good looking, does not necessarily mean you can act. Although, she did get more dialog that Megan Fox ever get in the 2 movies, kudos to the writer for that. But her acting was so bad, that you wish Megan Fox would come back. The worst part for me, is her facial expression, it is kinda the same whether she's mad, or scared, or happy, God woman, did you took botox or something?!

If you saw the movie, you would agreed what Megan Fox said about Michael Bay trying to exploit woman, making things sexy and hot, while degrading them. You could see from the camera angle, and some scene that it does really make one think WTF was that for?! Like the scene when she standing in the road try to look sexy while things blowing up around her.

Micheal Bay's view to appease the 16 years old with making Rosie Huntington-Whiteley a sexy symbol does work, it's a good strategy if you're don't care much about acting though. I for one am.

If you thinking, "I am watching the movie for the robots", well, you would be disappointed. The robots, only fight for a few times, and most of the times, the fight last like 10 minutes top, Optimus Prime has the worst role in the 3rd sequel, not to put any spoiler, but he is not feeling his mojo in this movie.

The whole movie was overpowered by the human armies, which is not bad, since the action was superb, but the movie is call Transformers, so it's kinda miss the mark there. Plus, the juvenile-like love scene can be cut down a lil bit more, it's just too yucky.

So, all and all, the movie was a 4/5 stars. Action scene was AWESOME. Robot fight scene was brief, and make you want more! Especially when the story is near 3 hours long! Optimus Prime loss its mojo. Human armies definitely rules! Love story is kinda overpowering for me. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley can't act, but has much more dialog than Megan Fox. If you want to see some great action and sexiness, this is definitely great movie to watch, just bring extra popcorn or drinks.

If you're a photo junkie, you would know how it feels when you took a photo that's out of focus, if only you can recreate the moment, but you can't. But do not falter, there's a new player in town with a new toys.

Introducing Lytro, the camera that allowed you to refocus your photo, after you took it. How the magic happens? In simple laymen term, a camera has sensor that detect light field, and this light field are usually finite, meaning there are limit. However, the new sensor in Lytro camera pick up all light field from the scene, which means it pick up the light direction, intensity and colour.

Now, with this, vast amount of data, you can change the picture to your desire, also, you would never has problem auto-focus since it grabs all the light field, making the photo capturing faster. It would also allow you to capture a low light scene better, without having to use a flash.

I've just found out about this. National Geographic ask real life people to video their one day, and mail it to them, and what to got was spectacular. It will be shown in a documentary title, Life In A Day.

Here's your daily dose of Earth preservation. The ocean are now undergoing mass extinction, according to scientist, you can blame that on over-fishing and global warming.

The proves of coral reef dying around the world and increasing area call the "dead zone", this area are basically where the oxygen are so low that no living organisms can live in it, it is real, and it is spreading.

It is also said that we will lose major ocean ecosystem in a single generation. This is a real risk, much more bigger than previously thought. The ocean are facing the deadly trios, acidification, higher temperature and lack of oxygen. This trio is an evidence of mass extinction in the past.

The source are clear, acidification cause by the absorption of carbon dioxide by the use of fossil fuel, which also heating up the planet, while the low oxygen area are cause by run-off of fertilizers and other man made substance.

Unlike global warming, over-fishing is entirely different problem. It can be regulated by strict policy and tighter law. Over-fishing in some area across the globe has resulted in the extinction of some species even bring them to the brink of extinction.

New concept of Airbus flying in 2050 was shown in Paris airshow, and it look pretty awesome. For instance, the front cabin is transparent, allowing the passenger to view the sky, night or day.

The airplane will be build with bird-like bones that will result in lighter body and ability for transparent fuselage.

There will be a playing area in the plane. Where you can relax and have fun.

As you can see below, there is a holographic pop-up named "Smart Tech Zone" where the power source coming from your body heat to the chair.

government blocked websites

This may not come as a surprise for those that live in Malaysia. The government has now blocked 10 websites that it said it will. I am not a fan of the government, I have said it time and time again, but this last straw really is outright stupid and unacceptable. What is going on in their head when they decided to blocked this sites? They know they going to lose support from the people, what a dick move.

The main reason for the blocked are said to be because it wants to stop piracy. I can understand the noble cause, but let us get the facts straight. Fact is thepiratebay.org is not illegal in US. Fact is some of the website that they blocked are mostly file database website, which is perfectly legal to use by the user of the internet under the terms of the owner of the websites. Fact is, we don't download local movie, we all about supporting our local act. Fact is, by doing this, you just making yourself look bad.

Artistes of course support this, though most of them just jump into the bandwagon, without ever knowing the overall facts. They said that this will prevent piracy, hell no. Do you guys know that most of the pirate songs don't come from the websites listed? If you guys want to stop piracy, stop doing a 1 hit wonders, and start doing something worth listening to. Please don't blame others on your own doing.

Here's a theory on the real reason why they want to do this, first of all, they just fell like they can, people with power always want to show that power. ALWAYS. Secondly, they want to limit the traffic use of the internet, because they want to hog all of them for themselves. Thirdly, it's a peer "pressure", yeah, you know what I meant.

They are ways to bypass all the restrictions, but the fact remain that this is a low move that undermine us as a human being and our rights. We will survives this, we always does. The question is, will the government?

first look at Windows 8

Here's the first look on the currently developing new Windows OS, code name Windows 8 (official name is yet to be given). What's cool about the new OS, is that it is completely different from all the previous predecessor of the Windows brand. As you can see in the video, there will be a lot of apps, and touch screen involve. It's look pretty complicated from the video, but I'm sure we will get use to it in no time.

Love and Drugs?

It's been a very long time since I've wrote anything here, there haven't been that much of stories to write about anyway. But since I have some spear times, why not talking nonsense for a while.

So, I'm here to write about how the world is getting screw up. Not that the world was better before, it just that it has gotten a lot more weird.

So the first thing I want to mention is about homosexuality, yes yes, it's a taboo topic, but I'm not going to touch on anything sensitive here (hehe). One thing that you have to agree with me is that homosexuality has become a much heard story in the past..what? 10 years? It was considered to be a taboo story to even talking about it, but now it seems like everybody is talking about it. Plus, it's even mention here in Malaysia.

So, here's the deal, I have no problems with the gay community, in fact, as long as you don't rub it on my face, I'm cool with it, but my religions teach me that this is a NO NO! But that's not what I'm writing here, have you notice that recently that there has been a lot of increase in gay movement? Yes, go Google it. I know being understanding about other sexual orientation is one of many steps in respects and all the stuffs about humanity, but lately it seems that the gay movement are making as if all that the non-homosexual choice is an act of terrorism towards them.

Obviously I'm not making accusations here, but if you look in the USA, if a state does not allowed gay marriage, some people take it to the extreme and saying the state is against humanity, what?!

If the state doesn't allowed it, then just go to another state. It's as if we are living in a world where the gay rule everything. This is what I believe what some people said, peer and social pressure, where an act of many could change a mind. Scary when you're living in this time. This is still taboo in Malaysia, and for those that's muslim, and are gay, let just hope you're repent and if you're don't, only God can decide your fate.

Another thing I want to talk about is the abundant of drugs advertisement on TV right now. There are drugs to make you look better, or drugs that make you feel better, but one in particular caught my eyes.

Have you see the ad about a drugs that could cure fatty liver? Yes, the one where the actor said "but I'm not fat"...so, the story is the guy who is "overweight" eating with his friend, probably acting as a doctor. Now the doctor friend been eating and eating until one day he said to him that he might be overweight and would cause problem to the liver, fatty liver.

Now normally, a sensible person, would stop eating too much and exercise, but noooo..the advertisement would like you to buy the drugs and it would repair the "broken" liver. Now, what do you think if everyone thinks this is ok? Well for once, people would rather eat to their heart content and be fat, because there are drugs that could help you with any future problems, if there was a drugs to fight obesity, I'm sure they will be the first in line. Secondly, the kids will think it's ok to eat like a hog, because there are drugs to make you alll better, kids nowadays are so susceptible.

This kind of advertisement is what we should be avoiding putting on TV, all those crap the government said about exercising just got thrown out the window. Whose idea was it on the first place? Well, they do pay a lot so that their drugs would appear on TV, it's all come down to business in the end, let just throw all the the ethics away.

So there you go, I don't expect anyone to read all of it, but I hope for those that read it, think about it, like the famous National Geographic motto, Think Curious.

Mother's Day

Hei, isn't today Mother's Day. Somehow, there are a lot of people reminding me about this, why? Do I look like I'm someone that does not love his mother?

Anyway, our family isn't really big in this kind of celebration, but we celebrate anyway. Simple yet meaningful. But let's not dwell into what we did today, let's talk about someone that we know we can turn to when we needed, someone that would love us, even when we do something so sinister and stupid, hehe. Someone we are proud to call our mom.

Let us not take granted of our mom, let us embrace her as long as she's still here to lend a shoulder when we're sad, or nag when we're lazy, scold us when we did something stupid. Because, that is what a mom would do. Think about those unfortunate not to have a mom, and think about how lucky we are.

So, even if you don't remember it's Mother's Day, or that you don't have a present for her, just say hello, and pray for her well being is good enough, because we know, a mother never ask for a children's love, only well being. That how selfish a mother is.

So Happy Mother's Day, even if I'm a bit too late. Hey, at least I remembered!

Alright, this post came after the news of the death of Osama bin Laden. Now, before I pour my thoughts into this, I would like to make things clear, there has been many theories and speculations in the world of what happened after 9/11 incidents, for examples, theory that Osama was never real, it was a lie created by the US to fight the muslim or that Osama did not orchestrate the attack on the World Trade Center, whatever you want to believe, it does not matter, I only believe in one thing, it is clear from the tragic 9/11, the world change, for the worse and the better.

I'm sure most of you already read about Osama death, and how the US decided to buried him in the ocean, to (as they stated) avoid a grave where mass can worship him as a martyr. I want to say that there's some truth in this, we don't want people that support terrorism flocking his grave, but couldn't they at least bury him somewhere in a desert or something.

Everybody have their own opinions, so feel free to speak up, we are intelligence being after all, capable of decent debate. Here's what I think, I don't know if Osama really is dead, or if he is real, but the time this happened is too much of a coincidence with President Obama re-election campaign. It may be propaganda so that he could stay in office for a few more years. Who knows? But to claim that Osama is dead, when he is not, just to stay in office, is a bold move.

If Osama really is dead, I am not sorry for it. People may say that he's a martyr for openly fighting the US, The Big Devil, but is that what Islam teaches you? To kill every last infidels, just because they don't understand? Here's why I don't feel sorry for Osama being dead, firstly is because he made Islam looks like a barbaric and terrorist religion, people in Malaysia may not feel it, but think about the our fellow muslims in US, where they probably got harassed or worse, killed, all in the name of religions and ignorance. Yes, today we see that people are being shown the truth about Islam, how do you think the world was when Osama said he was the mastermind?

Like I said, people around the world has different views about Islam nowadays, where you usually walk without glaring evil eyes, now has the whole world that does not share the same belief, look differently on us. Think about the our fellow muslim that risk their life day in and day out, while people looks differently on them, just because they don't want to understand.

Yes, I don't care if he is dead, he does not shows what the truth in Islam is, killing innocent people, women and children just because they are so call "infidels?" I am not the most pious person in the world, but the teaching of Islam is about compassionate and peace. We were never taught to raise our weapon and start killing people in the name of our Allah.

The way we taught people about Islam, is by showing them, and make them understand, because we only afraid of what we do not know.

I don't care which side you are on, if you really think Islam should rise to power with aggression now, that is your belief, but I believe that we should show them by conquering other venue, science, economy and global business.

I hope this will all be forgotten, the world has been plunge into the darkness too many times.

It's a sad sad day. Today, marks the end of the typewriter. Some may never heard of the typewriter, let alone see it. Here's a picture if you don't know what it is. Godrej and Boyce, the last company that manufactured this revolutionary device is closing it's plant in India, with only few hundreds machine left in stock. They were at one point producing 10,000 typewriters in a year.

You can say that the typewriter make way for the modern QWERTY keyboard. I can still remember the first time I used it, and the clicking sound that echo in the house. You will be missed. Rest In Peace (1867-2011).

On a much more futuristic story, there's a revolution in how laptop are going to look like in the future.

Here's the first look at the trailer of Transformers:Dark of The Moon. If you did not know already, Megan Fox was replace by Rosie Huntington, but from what I can gather from the trailer, she's pretty much has the same role as Megan Fox, being sexy and hot while having 2 or 3 lines in the movie. Anyway, from what I read, the movie is about a bunch of Cybertronian that was hidden in the moon, and the race to find it between the Autobot and the Decepticon. As you can probably see from the trailer, we know who won that race. So are you excited to watch this when it come out?

It tells the story of when Professor X first made the school for the gifted and were the first of the X-Men. In this time, he and Magneto were still friends. Enjoy the trailer.

The second movie, is Immortals. From the director of 300, it's another Greek myth movie. It tells of a story of one man that the Gods choose to be their hero, when an evil king declare war on all of humanity. For the past few months, I have been staring into this empty white wall, but no more. NO MORE! At first I thought of just paint the wall with colour, either green or blue. However, I had an even more greater idea, one that came to me while I was staring blindly into the white abyss.

I am now announcing that I will embark on a mega project, one that I had the approval of my father. I will paste about a MILLIONS (well maybe not MILLIONS) pictures from my collections. It will be either epic, or well lame. Wait for it in the coming weeks. Adios!

Love and Other Drugs

Love and Other Drugs is another film that I am able to watch and review.

So what's the film about? Starring Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal, it is a story of a drug salesman, who stumble upon the greatest drug ever known, the little blue pill or better known as Viagra. It is based on a non-fiction book of Hard Sell: The Evolution of A Viagra Salesman by Jamie Reidy.

For those that have no clue, Viagra is a drug that helps those with erectile dysfunction, but at first was not meant to. You can Wiki all about the drug there.

So the story is background on the 90's when Viagra was not found yet. The main character, Jamie (Jake Gyllenhaal) just lost his job at a music store after sleeping with his boss's girlfriends. (his kinda like a playboy). His wealthy brother helps him lay a job at Pfizer (the company that created Viagra). His job is to sell drugs made by the company and reach quota if he ever want to be big and move to better place.

During one of his "sales" he met Maggie (Anne Hathaway). He relentlessly ask Maggie for a date, when she finally agreed, he learns that she don't want a real relationship. This is because of Maggie's condition, she is diagnose with Parkinson. Although only at early stage, she has to coupe with a lot of drugs and struggle with all the symptoms. When Viagra was introduce it really put Jamie forward. Watching Maggie turn for the worse, he went on a crusade of finding a cure for Parkinson (which to this day hasn't been found yet), however this put stress on their relationship. Will Jamie stayed with her or will he just give up?

Now, the film is heavy enough, although there are some elements of humour, the film will make you stuck on your sit for 2 hours. I can't really tell if this is the best acting from Anne, but it is clearly a leap from Jake Gyllenhaal. In the film, you can see topless Anne Hathaway, but I'm sure it will get censored here, so don't worry, hehe.

Another thing about this film is the change of focus, at one time it focus on the drug sales, then on the couple problems, then again to the drugs. This may not be suitable if you find yourself looking for a good old romantic film. There are critical review about this movie, but I love that the movie explore all the other aspects of that time. It is said, that the author of the book, didn't put all the sex and romantic interest because he's afraid his mother would read them..aww.

I give this film a solid 3.5/5 stars, if you want to see somewhat heavy drama, watch this film.

The Adjustment Bureau

Another film that I am lucky enough to watch. The Adjustment Bureau is a film that is pretty intense and weirdly kind of way. Starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt the film is about fate, event, and free will.

The film was loosely based on Phillip K. Dick's short story, call Adjustment Team. It tells a story about a young and upcoming senate candidate (played by Matt Damon) that is on his way of becoming the greatest man in the US. However, he lost the first campaign he entered, but met a woman (played by Emily Blunt) that captivated his heart from the first time they met. What he didn't know is that, it is all part of the plan.

The plan that was controlled by a group of people known as The Adjustment Bureau. The Adjustment Bureau is the people that enforce the plan of all the human on earth, they are kinda like the angel. They act according to the plan that was written by The Chairman, perhaps God himself.

Matt Damon plan deviate when one of his caseworkers fail to put him in the right path, that somehow by chance he meet the Emily again in a bus. This creates ripple effect that will lead to greater consequences and the chase for a free will. For one, Matt learns about the bureau, but was warned not to tell anyone, or they will mash his brain up.

The bureau will do absolutely everything to stop Matt from ever meeting with Emily again, but again by chance he did. Now the bureau are out to pull them apart, and stop them from ever falling in love. Will they succeed or will Matt perseverance kept the love alive?

I don't know where to categorize this film, Wiki categorize it as a romantic science fiction thriller, I gonna go with that. I'm gonna give this a solid 3/5 stars.

No Strings Attached

Here's another film review. No Strings Attached is starred by Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, is a film about modern day romantic comedy of two long friends that decided to have casual sex, without all the feelings and talking and especially without falling for each other, kinda like friends with benefit.

The film is based on screenplay by Elizabeth Meriwether, titled Friends With Benefit. Ivan Reitman, the director, told the press that he noticed how easy teenagers nowadays to have casual sex without the emotion.

This film isn't all about sex, the film doesn't even show nudity (that much). There are other things that the film explore, mostly on the emotional side of this kind of relationship. One does wonder, if we can keep being friends, after all that. The twist in this film is that the guy is the one that developed the feelings and brave enough to confess, however the girl got scared and run away.

Although I have to say, this is not the best we've seen from Natalie, it does suit Ashton really well. If you knew how he is from all his previous film, you would know about his acting in films. But, if you want to see Natalie's crazier side, you can see it here.

All and all, if you like some light romantic, heart-warming, sexy, and funny film, it is recommended, especially on your boring Sunday afternoon with the one you love. A solid 3/5 stars from me.

So, if you guys were born on the 80's, most of you know Avril Lavigne, she was he pinnacle of hot superstars that once reside in every mind of teenage boys, and girls if you want too. But after years, her popularity just drop and after she gets married, it was all down hills from there, at least for me, I think it was.

However, she recently divorced and coming strong as always. She has new songs, new albums, and still smoking hot. I know she doesn't have the voice of Celine Dion or Beyonce or Alicia Keys, but if Lady Gaga can won grammys looking like what she is and with that voice, what stopping Avril right? Anyway, I'm not talking about a new song, I'm talking about how hot she looks in the new photoshoot of Maxim! You got to admit, she's still got it!

Ok, so as you guys know, I am not a guy that talks about classical music, or any type of orchestra music, but I do love some of them. Here I am presenting Scheherazade. An orchestra that tells the story the famous 1001 night. The story goes that the Shah, married a lot of virgin and kills them the next day, this is because of his pain towards his first wife that cheated on him. Soon he married Scheherazade. She tells a story every night, but let it hanging so that it creates suspense. The Shah of course decided not to kill her, because he wants to know the ending. Scheherazade tells the stories for 1001 nights, until the Shah actually falls in love with her.

So this video has 5 parts, I only took the last part because of the solo violin. I would like you guys to listen at 3:50, when the solo starts. It will took your breath away, if you like this, please play the whole 5 parts, it is truly a beautiful piece of music.

You guys know how much I am for sustainable living and against global warming, so I am here to announced another year of Earth Hour.

On 26th March 2011, this Saturday will be another year where we pledge to help save the environment by closing the light for an hour. Earth Hour as you know, has been a global celebration that started in Australia.

It was started to make the world realize that there is still people pledging for sustainable world, and to fight global warming. It was never meant to stop global warming, but to create awareness, so that our children and our children children may yet see the world as beautiful as it is now.

Since the start of Earth Hour, more and more countries has joined, Malaysia too has been in the vibe. We, as a developing country are one of the major country that contribute to global warming, but measures has been taken, public has been educated, but we can do more, to show how committed we are.

So on the 26th of March, at 8.30pm, close your light for an hour. Promote this awareness, educate your family and friends. Until we find another planet to live on, let preserve this one with our best effort.

Family's Day weekend

Well, it was one hell of a weekend. Not literally, almost. My mom's department planned a Family's Day in Port Dickson. When my mom said I had to go, I was reluctant at first, who would want to go to a gathering where you only know your own family? Nonetheless, since we had two room reserved for us, I had to go.

The event was held in Thistle Hotel, PD, google it. The hotel is in a new management, the best part of the hotel is the lobby and the pool. Although, when in PD, you have to go to the beach, although nothing beats the beach on the east side of the peninsular, it's still a decent beach. Best part of the hotel is that they have water game, Banana Boat and Jet Ski seems to be most popular, no scuba diving, since there's nothing to see underwater. If you feel like kayaking, they also have that.

Back to the event. The first order of business when we arrived was a feast of DURIAN! Yes!Free DURIAN!! Since durian's season has started, who would want to miss it? We must have eaten a lot, because right after that, we feel hot (literally), even when we had the air-conditioner at full blast.

In the noon, we had games for the whole family. The game was divided into kids and adults, and each families are assigned to a group. We were assigned to the blue team. The problem with blue team is that we have only 5 children in our group, when it come to the kid's game, we pretty much doom! Except for the musical chair where we totally owned that game, thanks to my 2 big sisters!

In the end, the blue team is at number 2, well, it does not matter what your position, the prizes are all the same, but it was a lot of fun! None stop laughing all the time.

The dinner was equally fun, the theme was Hollywood Night, so you have to wear something from the west. My father and I did not wear any costume, since it was troublesome to search for one, but my sisters when as a Hogwarts's Wizards, and my mom went as a witch.

Most of the people attending also looks equally good. Some came as a princess, some came as pirates, there's even one Storm Troopers. Most ridiculous costume was a Narnia's closet, he bought the cheap closet with zippers on them and posted a cardboard sign on top that reads "Narnia", hehehe.

The next day, we had a little fun in the pool and on the beach, after long day, we went back home. So it was not a bad weekend actually. Oh, my mom said, the hotel had a discount for PETRONAS's staffs.

A few updated stories. First of all, I'm sure most of you heard of what happening in Middle East right now? First it was the Egypt uprising, and now it looks like the whole Middle East is going to some major changes.

There are many countries where the people demand changes, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, but the most crazy one is probably in Libya. The opposition wanted democracy since Gaddafi has been their leader for more than 40 years without a single election. I am all about democracy here, the stupid part, for me, is when the opposition start taking the changes serious by using guns and attacking the pro-government, taking over cities, that is when the whole changes movement start crumbling down.

Gaddafi mobilize his loyalist, mostly soldiers that have no problem shooting their own people dead, and bombing buildings where he believe the opposition stayed. Not only that, he is cutting off his country from all foreign helps, mostly medicine and food, so that the opposition starve to death.

The opposition has one powerful weapon when all this started, the global sympathy, but since the fighting begin, they has lost their objective. Now Gaddafi are winning, never ending bombing, capturing key opposition leader, induce fear in the people everyday life, has made the change movement all but whispers. I wish the foreign community especially the leader, takes drastic action on this. Last I check, killing of innocent people are punishable by death in the World Court.

Another major story now, is the earthquake in Japan. As you guys know, the death toll can reach up to 10,000 people, as 2,000 bodies were found recently. But that's not the worse part, the worse part is the nuclear plant that is going critical right now.

Fukushima nuclear plant is undergoing a meltdown as we speak, effort to restore power to the plant (ironic right) has taken longer than expected. What this will do, is that it will restore the cooling system in the plant, so that the core temperature can be lowered. However, up till now, 2 reactor are in critical states, another 2 are going to blow any moment.

Radiation level are soaring up to 800 times than normal near the plant. Currently there are no workers in the area, since the radiation are too high to work in. Most of the foreign leader are blaming Japan for not taking faster measures to deal with it, but I say give them a break, they've been hit an earthquake and tsunami, they are doing all they can.

There are 7 scale of danger in reactor meltdown, 7 being the most dangerous, only Chernobyl has been categorize as a number 7 scale. The plant in Fukushima is being categorize as number 4, but other said it is as close as a category 6. If the plant does explode, it will be deadly to people of 50 miles radius, with up to 1 millions death could occur.

In a lighter note, here's a video of a dog, that is loyal to it friend, even after the quake hits, it will not leave the friend, helps eventually arrived, and the 2 of them are safe. It just show how loyal animal can be.

127 Hours

I had the chance of watching 127 Hours today. It was superb! If you haven't heard of 127 Hours yet, you will. 127 Hours tell the real life story of Aaron Ralston, a mountaineer that became trap in Utah desert, and survive to tell his extraordinary story.

I will not spoil any revealing details here, so don't worry. Aaron love to do adventure activities, and often do it alone without anyone know where he went. One day, as he was traveling through Utah desert, he fell and his hand was trapped between a boulder and the canyon. His quickly realize that he will probably stay there for a long time, but then realize that he will probably never gonna make it out.

In between his escape and becoming trap, he will start thinking about his family, his friends and past life. He will also fight the weather and environment. You will see what it took to survived, and the human will to keep on living.

It was a great choice that James Franco was nominated for and Oscar, although did not win, it was a superb performance indeed.

This is a highly recommended movie for those movie buff out there. A simple 4/5 stars.

aftermath of Japan's earthquake

The aftermath after Japan 8.9 magnitude earthquake is still unfolding. This is what I currently know. For more, go BBC

One of Japan nuclear power plant explode and threaten to melt and pose an environmental danger.
Currently the radius of people need to evacuate raised to 20km.
The nuclear melt down is due to a malfunction in the cooling system.
If the radiation increases, it could reach to much more dense populated area on the north and south.
Relief works are still on going, and bodies are still being found.
Almost 200-300 bodies in the Sendai area alone, with almost 1,000 in total to be expected.
Some cities remain silent as the local authority were unable to establish contact, due to mechanical failure or total lost of lives, this cities sum up about 10,000 people.
The earthquake was as close as 130km offshore.
The main island of Japan move 2.5 meters according to scientist.
The island of Hawaii has been declared a disaster zone after being struck by the tsunami, some county in California also declared disaster.

report from local network says, 80,000 may be dead
tsunami warning has been issued around the Pacific, including, Hawaii, Philippines, west coast of North and South America
passenger train missing near Sendai

Hey there, as you guys know, the iPad has revolutionize the world one way or another. After the unveiled of the iPad, more and more companies are coming out with the similar device. Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy, and a few more to be names.

83rd Oscar's winners

The 83rd Oscar was held in Los Angeles today, and hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco, the first in Oscar's history where a guy and a girl hosted the show.

Anne and James were funny, but most of the time I felt like it's a one woman show from Anne. But the usually boring Oscar is a lil bit light this year, yes Anne and James helps, but I think it's because of the different things you can see in the Oscar this year, where you usually can't see performances in the Oscar, you can see it this year, and the presenters are from the veterans that had experiences to present, so they aren't that boring.

Plus, you got to see Anne singing and dissing Hugh Jackman, hehe. There's also a segment, you could call that, where it just shows that AutoTune makes everyone sings perfect. Well, you would have to watch it to believe it.

So, if you haven't seen the movie mention in the nominees, you should, they are incredibly good, and this year nominees for Best Motion Picture are just so strong, that I feel like one winner is just not enough.

an interview of a different kind

Alright, so today I wanted to write about an experience I had. So as you guys know, I'm still job hunting, which is fine, I've been to couple of interview this month, and many more last month, but nevertheless, it's hard to find a great suitable job. It's hard to choose a job with my educational background that needed people with minimum 5 years experience.

As they say, beggar can't be chooser, so I change my game, I now choose any kind of job that related to either oil company or oil services, whether it be a front desk or a simple admin exec. But today's interview is a lil bit different.

Today's interview is for a position that I thought I never even apply, a position so sacred that I think many people would look in disbelieve, Seri definitely sound like it when I told her. The position I'm talking about is as a Creative Photographer. Yes, you guys might not find it a shocker, but wait until you find out where I applied it.

The company's call, The Picture Company, click on the link to learn more, but in a nut shell, it's a photography studio that specialize in taking pictures of babies, toddlers, families, couples, it is not a simple studio. In this studio, you got to dress up, having fun, making people laugh, plus you got to wear jeans all the time helps too.

The interview was strange for me, I was really nervous since I never had any experience in this kind of things. But thank God for Maggie, who is Maggie? Well she's from Philippines, been here for 5 months and super cute helps too! (God, I really hope she doesn't drop by here)

Anyway, the question was awesome! For example, "if you're were a crayon, what colour would you be?" or "what do you do for fun?". Not a question that talks about what's your experience in handling data, or how do you handle stress, no technical question.

I'm hoping I get this one, but if I don't, it will be a bummer, but I kept trying, optimism is one of my traits. Till next time.

If you're a passionate photographer like me, then you would probably like this type of picture. It is call the tilt shift picture, it is basically picture that was taken to gave sort of miniature effects. Some camera has got this install in them, some has to resort to photoshop your picture.

Believe me, all of this is real life, you might see them as tiny miniature, but it's not. So enjoy it, and do try it if you have the time.

Coca-Cola secret recipe?

In life, there are a lot of secrets that we all want to know, such as the secret recipe in KFC, who wouldn't kill for a secret like that. Another close guarded secret that we all have taste and love, is the recipe to making of Coca-Cola.

I read in Yahoo! that the formula was shown in a journal published in 1979, now the drink however was made on 1886. Coca-Cola rep obviously denied this to be the true formula. Here's the (probably) most guarded secret, you can try making it if you want. Oh, and of course there's alcohol in it, it was 1886!, it was later remove.

The recipe:

Fluid extract of Coca: 3 drams USP
Citric acid: 3 oz
Caffeine: 1 oz
Sugar: 30 (unclear quantity)
Water: 2.5 gal
Lime juice: 2 pints, 1 quart
Vanilla: 1 oz
Caramel: 1.5 oz or more for color

The secret 7X flavor (use 2 oz of flavor to 5 gals syrup):
Alcohol: 8 oz
Orange oil: 20 drops
Lemon oil: 30 drops
Nutmeg oil: 10 drops
Coriander: 5 drops
Neroli: 10 drops
Cinnamon: 10 drops

So basically, Maulidur Rasul celebrate the born of the last prophet, Muhammad saw. This is a great day, that is celebrated across the globe.

For the whole day, muslim around the world will have a talk (ceramah/tazkirah) among loyal muslim, about the prophet, about his life and legacy, about remembering the prophet. Marching around while singing and praising the prophet is also another way of celebrating the day, however, not until recently that it is said not to be a proper way to celebrate.

So on this auspicious day, greet your loyal muslim, forget about valentine's day yesterday (it's haram anyway) and just read a little history about how Muhammad saw become the greatest figure in the history of mankind.

Egypt rejoice as Mubarak stepped down

It was a historic day in Egypt and across the globe, when the President (or former) Mubarak has announced that he will step down. This come after the anti-government protesters took over the Tahrir Square in Cairo for a peaceful demonstration, urging the removal of President Mubarak.

A lot has happened that led to the historic day, from millions of protesters, to fighting among the pro-government and the anti-government, towards a much much larger protesters in the last hours that finally yield the intended result.

The former president has done a lot to stay in power in the period of the chaos in Egypt, from completely change his cabinet, to promise of ending his term this September, and recently giving power to his second in command, the vice-president.

But the protesters refuse to give in to all his lies and so call diplomacy. However, as of Friday, the power shift has happen, the weeks of violence and military intervention has now come to an end. And where is Mubarak when all this happened? He was taken out from Cairo to his private retreat in the Red Sea. In fact, the one that make the announcement about the step was his vice-president, now that is what I call cowardice.

The military has take over the government for a while, although they don't have intention on holding to it, stated that a government made by the people will be form. The people of Egypt now demand that the whole government and constitution change, so that a much more fair and transparent government and law can be made.

One this is clear from all this, this kind of protest, where the police had no power to stop, when people of all ages from all different kind of background had enough of 30 years of regime, and when the military decided to step in to protect Egypt and its people, this kind of protest is what most nations afraid of, unless of course if it is fair to all its people.
