About 40 years ago the biggest TV audience tune in to watch humankind's first encounter of earth from another world.
Here is the first photograph taken by the crew of Apollo 8 which is not in their flight plan.
The photo was taken when the crew on board the spacecraft witness a magnificent view of the earth from their spacecraft's window. As the spacecraft fly with its route, the crew took the picture above, and become the first earth picture photographed by human.
Because at that time they only holding a black and white camera, the picture above is the result. But not content with it, another crew snap a colour picture and would be as photo's editor for the rest of history. Here are the colour picture.
And there you go, the first colour picture of earth photographed by a human.
Although it is weird that the crew of Apollo 8 not to film it using the craft's camera. The only first video came when the japanese did it in HD.
Thanks to this image of Earth that we are able to view them today in digital. So happy 40th birthday.
