generation Y

i promise another post about this..so here's a simple summary of GenY, I don't know if you think its true or not, but some of the profile that Im able to get, sounds pretty close to me..but I leave this one up to you...

let start with the positive side:

• optimistic and confident(so true)
  
• respond to humor - irony
• volunteer
• MTV culture
• Tech savvy
• love to stay in communication
• realistic views of the world
• decisions based on peers(haha..nak daftar subjek contohnya)
  
• short term focus
• top 3 leisure - go to party, listen to radio, go to movie
• want to be respected, understood and accepted
• practical
• mature(for real?)
  
• ambitious
• tolerant, able to accept differences in races, genders and ethnic
• fast learner
• very-education minded
• multi-taskers and fast thinkers
• financially smart (Im not..)
  
• creative and independent thinker

here are the negative traits:

• impatient
• lazy
• want to be nurtured
• easily bored(so true)
  
• unresponsive to motivational tactics(this explain a LOT!)
  
• unwillingness
  
• no job or brand loyalty
  
• ignorance of politics
• focus on live rather than works( I don't know if this is a bad trait)
• materialistic(jaja..this has you written all over it)
  
• image conscious(1st impression is important)
  
• demand rationale behind request
• appearance
• motivated not only by money, but fun and social(what's wrong with that?)

so..there you go, do you think this is you GenY?anyway..there are a lot more research on the internet about this, go and check it out..its useful for those that searching for a job, coz most likely, your interviewer is a GenX, and there are clear different between GenX and GenY, it would be useful to understand other generation before we start judging them..
